3 Easy Cooking with Breastmilk Recipes

As a mum and massive fan of breastmilk, I’m always looking for nutritious and creative ways to use it. Here are three simple recipes you can make using your liquid gold. 


1. Mason Jar Breastmilk Ice Cream


This easy ice cream recipe is perfect for a quick treat! 

 

Ingredients:

  • Pinch of salt
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1½ tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup of breastmilk

Instructions:

  1. Combine the salt, vanilla extract, sugar, and breastmilk in a mason jar.
  2. Seal the jar tightly and shake vigorously for 5 minutes.
  3. Place the jar in the freezer for at least 3 hours.
  4. Enjoy your homemade breastmilk ice cream straight from the jar!

2. Breastmilk Pancakes


These fluffy pancakes are a great way to start the day!


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of breastmilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, breastmilk, and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and pour ¼ cup of batter for each pancake.
  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
  6. Serve with your favorite toppings

 

3. Creamy Breastmilk Porridge


A comforting and nutritious option for any time of day.


Ingredients:

  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 cup water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup of breastmilk
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil and add the oats and salt.
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the oats are tender, stir in the breastmilk and continue to cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy your creamy porridge!
